Variables must be declared before they can be used.
They are declared using the
DEF keyword followed by a (comma-separated) list of the names of the variables to be declared.
These variables will all have type
LONG (later we will see how to declare variables with other types).
Some examples will hopefully make things clearer:
DEF x DEF a, b, c
The first line declares the single variable
x, whilst the second declares the variables
c all in one go.
